The Traditional Kadazandusun Cooking Competition is a yearly event to organized by the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) in conjunction with the Harvest Festival or Kaamatan celebrated here in Sabah, Malaysia.

The Ka’amatan Festival is particularly significant as it marks not only the occasion to honour Bambaazon and to thank God for the bountiful harvest and his generosity in prolonging life on earth. It is also an occasion where the promise of friendship and brotherhood is renewed through mutual forgiveness.

The main objective of this competition is to introduce and educate the locals (especially the young generation) and international visitors on authentic traditional Kadazandusun cuisine.

Pertandingan Memasak Masakan Tradisional merupakan acara tahunan yang dianjurkan oleh Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) sebagai salah satu acara untuk Pesta Menuai atau Kaamatan yang diraihkan oleh penduduk Sabah, Malaysia.

Pesta Kaamatan atau di dalam bahasa kadazan “Magavau” ini merupakan upacara perayaan khas untuk menghormati “Bambazon” iaitu semangat padi. Perayaan ini adalah amalan secara tradisi kaum kadazandusun sejak zaman berzaman.

Objektif utama pertandingan ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan serta mendidik penduduk tempatan (terutamanya generasi muda) dan pelawat-pelawat antarabangsa mengenai makanan tradisi Kadazandusun.
